Our Vessels

Klara

We are excited to introduce Klara to our expedition fleet. A three-masted, expedition sailing vessel,  built at the celebrated Brodosplit (Croatia) shipyards in 2019, she brings an entirely new concept to expedition voyaging on a small ship.

With just 18 exceptionally comfortable cabins and a high guest-to-crew ratio, you will re-discover the true meaning of exploratory cruising. This means our programmes are open to changes and alterations along the way – maybe because of wildlife sightings, prevailing weather conditions or as other opportunities arise – such as a festival in a remote village.

The vast outer decks provide incredible viewing opportunities in all directions. Our fleet of Zodiac inflatable boats mean we can launch quickly and have you ashore, exploring the places through which we voyage.

While much of the expedition industry expands to bigger vessels in 2024 - carrying hundreds of passengers, Klara accommodates a maximum of just 36 guests. Our aim is to go in the opposite direction from the big ships and their big crowds. Less passengers and more staff means more time to explore on your own and focus on the things important to you. And all in the company of fabulous expedition crew – historians, naturalists, outdoor adventure guides to name just a few.

Our spacious dining area and salon accommodates all guests in a single seating. While our galley serves up an incredible variety of healthy, tasty meals three times a day. You will never go hungry, or thirsty on a voyage aboard Klara

Her small size allows for visits to small ports, such as the celebrated ‘out-ports’ along the coast of southern Newfoundland in Canada. You will never feel like you’ve arrived in a small village an it being overrun by the sheer volume of guests, as found on larger ships. This is an important point of difference. It sums up the approach of all voyages with Expedition Experience.

As a three-masted sailing vessel, we’ll hoist sails to help us along to the next destination. It’s not only romantic, but great way to help reduce carbon emissions. Even when we do navigate under engine power, we are easily able to keep to our scheduled itinerary if the breeze doesn’t co-operate. Being such a modern design, her engines are highly fuel efficient.

Expect Klara to bring an entirely new travel experience to Eastern Canada’s Maritime provinces, as well as select voyages in the Caribbean during the season.

Duchess

One of the most indulgent experiences on water is the opportunity to set sail aboard a luxury maxi yacht. At almost 30m in length, (92ft) Duchess is a go-anywhere expedition yacht built for luxury exploratory cruising for a select few guests per departure. Superior cabin accommodation and spacious communal areas, combined with a large open cockpit and ample deck combine, and hosted by an experienced sailing Master and crew, make this one of the most extraordinary travel experiences afloat.

Designed by celebrated naval architect, Bruce Farr and constructed in Italy at the Lavagna shipyards, the teak-lined deck stretches from bow to stern and the transom of the boat converts to become a safe and stable platform from which we can launch off-ship explorations via several Zodiac inflatable boats. It’s also the ideal spot to launch our sea kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. While in port, the gangway extends to the nearby dock meaning you can come and go as you please. This really is your own private floating expedition lodge.

She features a powerful four spreader rig and modern sail-plan all controlled and managed by our experienced yacht crew. You are welcome to be involved in all aspects of sailing and navigating as we voyage between anchorages and ports. Her spacious saloon provides 360-degree views along with fully equipped and modern galley provides a very comfortable home in tropical locations, or higher latitudes.
